Karaniwan, kung presidential election, straight ticket ang binoboto ko, naniniwala ako na dapat (ideally) masigasig ang suporta ng Kongreso sa Pangulo para magawa niya ang repormang gusto niyang isulong. Pero kung matutuloy ang pagtakbo ni Danton Remoto bilang senador malamang hindi mangyari ito ngayong taon.

Mas matindi ang paniniwala ko na kababuyan ang ginawa ng COMELEC sa Ang Ladlad party para hindi ko iboto is Danton.

Arroyo ang malaking dahilan ng pagkapanalo niya, bka maging Speaker si Pres. Arroyo sa susunod na Kongreso. Pero maski na maging speaker siya, sa palagay niyo ba ay magpapadikta si Teodoro sa kanya sa buong termino nito? At kung hindi naman si Teodoro manalo, asa pa si Pres. Arroyo na magiging speaker siya. Maski na yung partido niya ang pinakamadami na maipanalo sa Kongreso, magbabalimbingan lang naman yung mga yon. Kung sino pa rin ang gusto ng susunod na Presidente, siya ang magigign Speaker.

Hindi ko rin maubos maisip kung bakit gugustuhin ni Pres. Arroyo na maging Congressman. Sa ngayon, bilang Presidente, lahat ng iutos niya ay kailangan na sundin na lahat na kawani ng Gobyerno, pero pag Congressman siya, kailangan pa niya na makipag negotiate sa kung sino-sinong tao at kung ano anong ahenisya para lang makuha yung kanyang CDF. Kung maging oposisyon pa siya, bka i-freeze pa ng namumunong partido ang CDF niya gaya ng ginagawa ng partido niya ngayon sa oposisyon.

At least kung magretiro na siya, puede siyang umarte na statesman, above the fray of normal politics. Pero habang nasa loob siya ng pulitika, makikita siyang partisano at lalo lang siyang madudungisan. Kung anot-anuman, gusto ka pa rin mapanood kung pano ang magiging pakikitungo sa kanya ng mga nasa Kongreso ngayon pag hindi na niya kontrolado ang CDF nila at parehas na lang sila ng puesto.

HIV infection on the rise among RP youth, says UN agency

Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) cases among Filipino youth "have been increasing at an unprecedented rate," the United Nations representative’s office in Manila has warned.

"And while the country is still within the target of less than one percent of the population for HIV—the AIDS-causing virus—the rising number of HIV cases has become a cause for alarm," said the UN office in a report.

The report, a copy of which was furnished the Inquirer, said, "HIV cases among the 15-24 age group nearly tripled from 41 in 2007 to 110 in 2008."

Sa ginawang ito ng COMELEC, isa lang ang puedeng dahilan, takot sila sa bakla. Hahahahahahahahaha, kala ko pa naman mga lalaki sila, di pala. Bahag ang buntot nila pag nakakita ng bakla.

Una sa lahat, nais kong ipabatid ang aking pakikiramay sa pamilya ni Alecks Pabico. Hindi ko siya kakilala pero nung may isinulat ako tungkol kay Dr. Escultura, yung article ni Alecks ang nagbigay ng lakas ng loob sa akin para magpatuloy sa pagsusulat tungkol doon.

I'm an occasional blogger. No one except my friends and relatives semi-regularly visit this blog. My one claim to semi-fame was my writing to the Manila Times when they asserted that Dr. Escultura disproved Andrew Wiles proof of Fermat's Last Theorem.

An out shoot of this dispute with the Manila Times and Dr. Escultura was my creating the Salenga Award to honor those exemplary Filipinos who contributed to the development of Filipino's interest in science through the propagation of their crackpot theories.

Dr. Escultura is the first and only recipient of the award so far. Little do i know that the small post twitting Dr. Escultura will grow to have the longest comment thread in my little blog. Not only has Dr. Escultura visited to yet again spout his theories but (if you believe the writer) Salenga himself has deemed it proper to grace the blog with his presence.

I feel so honored.

Since i'm writing about Dr. Escultura, I would like to point out that he also left a comment to a long buried post where I quoted and agreed with a column by Alex Magno. In his comment, it seemed that Dr. Escultura mistook Alex Magno for Alecks Pabico. I think Dr. Escultura needs medical attention.

Noong Pangulo pa si Pangulong Estrada at binabantan siyasa corruption atbp, isa si Sen Escudero sa mga sumuporta kay Pangulong Estrada. Tapos, naging anti-corruption siya nitong si Pangulong Arroyo na ang naka-upo pero nung manalo siyang Senador, nakasama siya sa Mayorya.

Wala pa naman akong masuportahang Presidentiable ngayon, parang wala ng matino na tatakbong Presidente. Bagay, lagi namang talo yung mga matitino (Salonga - 1992, Roco 1998 at 2004). Sino ba naman ang mag aakala ns si Pangulong Ramos ang tatanghalin nating pinakamagaling na Pangulo ng Pilipinas nitong nakaraang 20 taon.

Hanggang ngayon pala ay nangyayari pa to sa Pinas, mga estudyanteng nasasapian ng masamang espiritu. Nung bata ako nangyari ito sa paaralan ko, mga batang nasapian daw, tinawanan ko noon, at nakakatawa pa rin hanggang ngayon.

Sino ba itong principal na ito na nagpapasok ng kung sino sino sa eskuwelahan para i pray over ang mga estudyante dito? DApat sa principal na ito ay sisantihen. Ang papel niya ay bigyan ng edukasyon ang mga estudyante at hindi magpapasok ng kung sino-sino para sa kung anog gawain.

Pork

I was reading Dispatches from the Culture Wars about US President Obama's stimulus plan and I was struck by this comment from Lurkbot.

Am I the only one tired of hearing this word "pork" used to mean "any project not located in my district?" A lot of things need doing. Only a fraction of them will get done, but all of them are done Somewhere.

If the representatives of Somewhere aren't advocating for projects that benefit their constituents, then it's time for the Somewherians to vote them out and get someone who will!

Pork barrel projects get a lot of criticism, and a lot of them deservedly so, but not all pork barrel projects are bad, just like not all politicians are corrupt. The trick is knowing what project is just waste and who are the incorruptible politicians. The problem of course is that its hard to do so.
